Tonic Music will be providing a mental health stand at Brighten The Corners, the multi-venue festival in Ipswich, on 14th-15th June.
We are delighted to be attending this year’s Brighten The Corners, in Ipswich, to provide a mental health stand for those attending and working at the event. The Tonic Music team will be positioned at Ancient House over the two days, offering mental health information and advice to the Ipswich music community.
Alongside this, Tonic Music will be providing a Never Mind The Stigma workshop on the benefits of listening to music for our mental health, which will also include guidance of using grounding techniques and self-soothing exercises at music events. The workshop will be facilitated by Tonic Music programmes lead, Jeordie Shenton, on Saturday (12:00pm-12:50pm) at Ancient House.
Tonic Music resources will be available across the event, including mental health zines and posters both front-of-house and backstage at the participating venues - The Smokehouse, The Baths, St Stephen’s Church and Ipswich Corn Exchange.
This year the lineup of Brighten The Corners features performances from shame, Ibibio Sound Machine, The Orielles, Theon Cross, Coach Party, Dave Okumu & the 7 Generations, mary in the junkyard, and many more. All of us on the Tonic Music team are looking forward to attending Brighten The Corners for the first time.
If you are heading to Brighten The Corners, come and say hi over at Ancient House, talk to one of our trained members of staff, and take home some of the Tonic Music mental health resources.
Tickets for the event are available here.
