Saturday 5th March the community came together to support the opening of the new Tonic HQ and we cannot thank you all enough for making the day so special.
The Tonic Ska choir gave an uplifting performance to begin proceedings to welcome everyone followed by a speech from Patron Barry Ashworth & Ambassador Seanie T who then both cut the red ribbon to officially open the new Tonic HQ.
Guests entered via the new Tonic shop where we have a new vinyl record shop along with new Tonic tees and Tonic merch. From here guests were welcomed into the main hall for refreshments and a DJ set from Andy Bennett and Jon Neil. The main hall is where Tonic workshops, choirs and events will take place along with our Tonic gallery with each picture having a proud place in Tonic’s history telling a story from each one.
Heartfelt speeches were then given by Ambassador Denise Black and Tonic friend Levi Collins who shared their journeys with Tonic and the work we do.
Steve Daley & Jeordie Shenton lead an overview for the Recovery through Music and Tonic Rider programmes giving insight into the support Tonic provides.
Mayfield Studios kindly donated their time and equipment with a strong performance from Hannah Reem & Dom Mayfield.
The Tonic Ska Choir gave a second performance bringing much joy to our guests.
MP Stephen Morgan accepted a cheque on Tonic’s behalf from Portsmouth joggers for a massive £1000, all fundraising enables our services to remain free.
A raffle, auction and team thank you followed by a DJ set from Ted At The Controls who has been a friend of Tonic from the beginning.
We can't thank everyone enough for all the support and good wishes we have received and look forwards to welcoming you all to the new Tonic HQ.
Big love.
